Just wanted to check in one more time to thank everyone for coming out to the farm this past season. We have been pruning the past couple of weeks and this huge task is in the final stages which is a blessing. The buds for next year look amazing and we are going to be applying the final fall fertilizer on this next week. We hope this quick update finds you all well and we will look forward to seeing you all in 2015.

THANKFUL!

We have much to be thankful for at Behm Blueberry Farms, Inc. First for the wonderful rains that God has provided during this growing season, it is such a blessing not to have to turn on the irrigation, plus nothing makes those blueberries big and sweet like RAIN! The next is to be able to celebrate with the Blueberry Queen on her 94th birthday, Happy Birthday to a wonderful women. Lastly our family who help when needed (like figuring out blogger for dear old mom), thanks Steve and make calls of encouragement when we are busy and tired just to check in. It will be a few weeks before the berries are ripe but we will keep you posted. In the mean time start making room in your freezers for the 2014 Crop!

Spring 2014

Well we do not have to tell all of you that much like our extreme winter we have had a very unique spring at Behm Blueberry Farm. It really began last October when our long time employee and dear friend Ramon decided it was time to return to Mexico. This was a very sad day for, us we really enjoyed working with Ramon and having him as a part of our family for over 10 years, however we knew this day would come and so we truly wish him the very best and hope to see him again someday. So that brings us to NOW. One of our part time guys has stepped up to replace Ramon and his name is Bryan. It helps that he is our cousin so we all get along just great and of course he is a really hard worker. We appreciate all he has been doing for us and we look forward to all of you meeting him this season. The question we are asked the most this year is how are the bushes and berries doing? For all that they went through this past winter they really do look pretty good. Parts of the farm look amazing and some parts are showing the effects of our harsh winter. The good news we have GREEN BERRIES which are sizing well and in the next 4-5 weeks will be turning blue! We will keep you updated to their progress, if you follow us on Facebook we try to post a weekly picture usually on Tuesdays since that is the day that I am on the farm and if you have not yet "liked" us on Facebook we encourage you to do so. We look forward to seeing all of you in the weeks to come. Thank you all for supporting our farm.
